Full Description

62596 During a watching brief in 1998, an unidentified clay object was recovered. The object was a heavily fired lump of clay with linear rounded grooves. It may have been part of a poorly made small household god statue or a plinth. Alternatively, it may be part of a structure destroyed by an intense fire.{1}{2} There was a fire in Bassingham in 1664.{3}
