Full Description

80014 There have been many finds from the River Witham, which are otherwise unlocated. These include Bronze Age metalwork. Two flat axes (7, 8) and a haft-flanged axe (22) were found in the Witham, and were recorded in Bank's Folios (iv, 309). Their present whereabouts are unknown. A spearhead with peg-holes (185) was recovered, and also recorded in Banks Folios (iv, 315). A three-ribbed socketed axes was dredged from the river in 1898 (431). {1}
