Full Description

62525 Just to the north west of the Kyme tower, a Bronze Age socketed axehead was found while potato harvesting. It has four ribs, and is similar to those in Grantham Museum, also from South Kyme. This axe has the lower portion of a bronze socketed gouge inside the socket, and the finder stated that he threw away a smaller axe into a nearby dyke (possibly the remainder of the gouge). {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
