62442 Morton Grange is a seventeenth century farmhouse of red brick with a pantile roof. It has three bays with a single bay addition to the east. It has internal chamfered beams, one dated 1682. It is thought that this may have been the site a monastic grange, although 'grange' also has a nineteenth century use, meaning 'a homestead, small mansion or farmhouse, especially one standing by itself remote from others'. (see 62462) {1}{2}{3} Morton Grange, Swinderby. Partially extant 17th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of E plan. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within a loose farmstead cluster. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {4}
