Full Description

A Roman bronze bowl of 1st - 2nd century date was recovered during ploughing in this location. The bowl was very battered and in two pieces with its rim twisted and broken away. It had a diameter of 16cm and a depth of 4cm and was made by using a cast and completed by lathe turning. Its base contained a number of concentric grooves which is very common in bowls of this type at this time. A Romano-British pottery flagon neck was found with the bowl. {1}{2}{3}
