Full Description

'Last week some men were digging at Swinderby in what is called Swinderby Lane, they discovered 8 full grown skeletons, seven of which were laid side by side, and at the other at their feet in a crosswise position. The seven were males, and the other a female, and the most remarkable thing is that every one had had previous to burial, the legs broken. The place in which they were found is known in the village by the name of the 'haunted cave' but why and wherefore tradtition has left no light.' {1}
