A Primitive Methodist Chapel is recorded on the 1905 OS County Series map, located on Church Lane. It is not clear if the original building survives. {1}
The site was visited in 2009. The building which opened as a Primitive Methodist Chapel in 1878 and closed in 1940 survives and has been converted into a house. It is built of red brick with red brick and ashlar dressings and a raised gable with stone copings and a slate roof covering. The pedimented frontage, of three bays of round-headed openings, has intermediate and terminal pilasters with stone imposts. The doorway is approached by steps. A stone date tablet '1878 Primitive Methodist' is set in the gable. The decoration of the pedimented gable includes dentil, and stepped, brickwork. The front elevation and window arches are of darker brick than the side elevations which have four bays of round-headed windows separated by pilaster strips. There are four foundation stones. The original window frames appear to survive behind inserted modern frames. The Census records a privately owned Primitive Methodist Meeting House in Timberland built about 1820 though this is unlocated (PRN 65667).{2}{3}{4}{5}
