Full Description

The old school and school house were built in 1843 which was subsequently altered. The gable of the school is surmounted by an ashlar gabled bellcote. It is single storey, and is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the church school was built in 1843 and at the time was attended by 60 pupils. {3} The school and schoolmaster's house can both be seen on the 1889 and 1905 OS maps of Timberland. {4}{5}
