PRN 44446
During the watching brief at the site a pit containing a mixed deposit of ash, burnt clay, charcoal and iron smelting slag was recorded. The presence of slag on site indicates that iron smelting was occurring nearby during the late Iron Age to Roman period. {1}{2}
