Full Description

PRN 44444 During the watching brief at the hall, foundations of a building dating to the 17th-18th century was recorded. The foundations remaining consisted of a chalk layer with handmade bricks forming a continious layer around the perimeter. The bricks and some of the mortar displayed sighns of burning and it is possible that a fire destroyed the building. A spread of burnt meterial was identified north-east of the existing lake, there is a high possiblity that it originated form the runined building aftrer it was burnt down. {1}{2}
