Full Description

A wall was recorded during a watching brief. This is thought to be of a medieval/post-medieval building that was demolished during the construction of the college. A piece of stratified 13th-15th roof tile fragment was also recovered from this site. {1}{2} An excavation and subesequent watching brief was conducted in 2011, for the Dean's Building, Lincoln College, to the immediate west of the earlier watching brief. Further evidence of post-medieval occupation was revealed in the form of a north to south running stone wall. Significant truncation of the site occurred during the construction of the Lincoln College buildings however, and much of the later stratigraphy for this area has been lost. {3}{4}
