Full Description
PRN 54738
A series of ditches were identified during a watching brief. Although there is no conclusive evidence it is thought that the ditches represent a re-established or realigned field boundary or drainage ditch complex. Two of the ditches contained Iron Age and Roman pottery sherds and also Roman tile, indicating that the ditches were originally Iron age and they continued into the Roman period. The ditches then eventually infilled between the 3rd and early 5th centuries. {1}{2}
