62026 A water engine, wind-powered, and presumably for land drainage, is marked on the 1824 OS map, but is no longer there on the 1905 OS County Series map. It was located adjacent to Metheringham Delph, south west of Tanvats. {1}{2} In 1831 an act was obtained for improving the drainage of Branston, Potter Hanworth and Nocton. Steam engines were erected in various places both in the above and in other parishes, and these presumably replaced the wind powered mills. {3}
