The watching brief undertaken on this site indicated extensive reclamation of the site in the early thirteenth century. Stone buildings, probably representing private dwellings, to the northern (River Witham) frontage of the site. The Buildings appear to have been abandoned and probably robbed away by the fifteenth century. Between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries a further reclamation of the site took place. Later occupation was primarily associated with the use of the site for milling and other industrial activities.{1}{2}
