Full Description

PRN 62051 During a watching brief a trapezoidal enclosure was located, this is though to be an unroofed block enclosure with at least one internal division, suggesting the separation of animals within the enclosure. To the south of this there was a series of boundary ditches, separating at least four separate land units. Two L shaped ditches were also recorded and from the fill of them numerous sherds of 3rd century pottery was recovered. The pottery included fine ware beakers from Mosselle in France and a Nene valley mortarium fragment. The remains of a copper alloy brooch as well as tile fragments were also found , these tile fragments are suggestive of the presence of a stone built structure in the vicinity.{1}{2}
