During trial trenching pits of late Saxon/Saxo Norman date were recorded. Approximately one hundred sherds of 11th 12th Century including a single sherd from an imported Andenne Vessel, and three hundred animal bone fragments were recovered. This is suggestive of domestic activity during this period either here or in close proximity.{1}{2}
