PRN 35507 During trial trenching a south-east - north-west saxo-norman linear ditch and two pits were identified, 10th-12th century pottery and animal bone was recovered from these features. The position of the pits and ditches could indicate that they are associated with the construction or the occupation of Bourne Castle, The pottery recovered was located on the southern side of the site, this could be an indication that occupation was located in this area, or a little to the south.{1}{2}
