Full Description

61904 In 1243 Thurgarton priory held twenty and a half bovates in Harmston the gift of Adam de Pickworth. In fact Thurgarton paid Adam eighteen marks and an annual rent of 39s.7d. for twelve bovates in Harmston. Thurgarton gained additional lands in Harmston and its estate here was equal to St Catharine's, a quarter fee each. In 1544 the manors of St Catharine's and Thurgarton priory here were sold for £1012 1s.8d. {1}
