Full Description
PRN 70231
During a watching brief, stone walls representing part of the south wall and the south-west corner of a building were recorded. The south-west corner was constructed of reused architectural fragments, including dressed slabs and a chamfered fragment. The building is thought to date to the late medieval or early post-medieval period, based on the probable medieval date of an earlier surface (see PRN 70230).{1}{2}
Numbers 22 and 23 Eastgate are Grade II listed houses which were built in the late 18th century. They underwent alterations in the mid 19th and mid 20th century. {3}
