Full Description

PRN 23703 Geophysical survey and trial trenching recorded a pit dated to the 10th-12th centuries, and a substantial late 12th-14th century ditch-like feature which contained a quantity of ironworking (smithing) slag (mostly hearth bottoms) and hammerscale, indicating ironworking in the vicinity.{1}{2}{3}
