Full Description

61779 Two dug-out boats were recovered from Nocton Delph. One of them (Nocton 1) was 25 feet long with internal divisions and separate sternboard found in 1790 in Nocton Delph, almost opposite the decoy. Trollope states that both the boats were donated to the British Museum by Joseph Banks, and the finding of the boats was dated by him to 1811, and puts the findspot at the Car Dyke. {1}{2}{3}{4}
