Full Description
PRN 44021
During a watching brief, several features and deposits were recorded, thought to relate to industrial activity. Features comprised a series of post-holes and two pits containing demolition rubble and industrial residues, and a brick-built well thought to date to the 19th century. Although the nature of the industrial activity is unknown, it is postulated that, as Post Office Lane was previously known as Leather Lane, it may be related to leatherworking. The demolition rubble may be from the demolition of workshops.{1}{2}
