Full Description

61765 A water engine, wind-powered, and presumably for land drainage, is marked on the 1824 OS map, but is no longer there on the 1906 OS County Series map. It was located adjacent to Mill Drain. {1}{2} In 1831 an act was obtained for improving the drainage of Branston, Potter Hanworth and Nocton. Steam engines were erected in various places both in the above and in other parishes, and these presumably replaced the wind powered mills (see 61766, 61803, 61807). {3}
