A button was found with the name Sir Robert Carr, or Carre. He was a member of an important Sleaford family of the sixteenth or seventeenth century. He founded the Carre Hospital (Almshouses) in 1636. Residents were allowed a blue cloth coat, presumably from which this button came. {1}
