Full Description
PRN 13585
During a watching brief, clay dump deposits thought to form part of a larger mound or platform were recorded, predating early Saxon deposits. Along with finds of briquetage in later features and fragments of what were interpreted as decayed briquetage in the dump deposits, the clay deposits were thought to represent possible Iron Age/Roman saltmaking activity in the vicinity.{1}{2}
