No 263 Brant Road is a former Chartist cottage which was built in c.1845, and is now a house. It is constructed of random rubble, and is partly whitewashed with a concrete tile roof. It is single storey, with 3 bays and is T-shaped in plan. This building is one of 6 erected for a Chartist land settlement sponsored by the owner of Red Hall, and visited and approved by Feargus O'Connor, MP, founder and leader of the Chartists.
