Full Description

A Neolithic stone axe was found in 1966, during ploughing on land to the west of Bloxholm Lane. The axe was donated to Lincoln Museum in 1967. A number of blackened stones had been noted in the same area as the axe, possibly suggesting they had formed part of a hearth or pot boiler. The finder also mentioned that they had found a hammer-stone and a likely late post-medieval piece of welded or laminated iron from the same area, although these were not inspected at the museum. {1}{2}
