Full Description

61502 A Roman tessellated pavement was found under the chancel of All Saints church in 1814. White states that a tessellated pavement was found there in replacing the north chapel by a vestry at a depth of two feet, and it ran along the length of the nave. {1}{2}{3}{5} In grave digging operations in the churchyard what are thought to be Roman bricks and tiles have been uncovered. {3} A Roman coin of Constantine was found in the churchyard. {4}
