61494 In the Archaeological Journal XXIII of 1866, page 304, there is a reference to 'bronze tweezers of unusual design found in railway operations on Canwick Common'. This may now be within Lincoln City. {1} Canwick Common became South Common and within the City boundary at the Canwick enclosure of 1787, although the use of the old name persisted into the middle of the nineteenth century. {2}
