Full Description

61470 A water mill for the production of flour is marked in the County Series OS map, and was known as Park Mill. It is not known how much of the original buildings survive. A corn miller was mentioned in White's Directory. {1}{2} A watermill was first recorded on this site in 1575 although the exact date of the current building appears to be unknown. The present building, known as Mill House, is of 3 storeys and constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a 19th century yellow brick extension and a 20th century 4th storey in red brick, as well as a 20th century extension to the front. Most of the windows are also 20th century, although 3 earlier ones survive. The mill was closed in the early 1970s and subsequently converted into flats. This building is classed as an important building within the Heighington conservation area. {3}
