Full Description

61454 Account of a curious urn (Archaeological Journal, Vol XXVI, 1869, p.288) with four feet found at Heighington some time around 1869 "At a considerable depth in a bed of sand adjacent to the course of the ancient River Witham. The pot is hand made and of pale brown colour." Height c.5 inches and diameter c.6 inches. There is a food vessel in the Trollope collection LM 88.50. It is not clear what the evidence for the grid reference is, and it is located within Branston parish. {1}
