A polished stone axe was found by Mr J. Thompson in 1939 (LM 22.39) at TF 0474 7042. Another polished stone axe was ploughed up in 1953 (LM 37.53) at TF 0473 7043. Both these axes are recorded in the SMR file as being in Heighington. However, the parish boundary has changed and the findspot for the axes is now in Washingborough. {1}
