Full Description
A possible Roman tile kiln site is located to the south of Newcot Lane, Heighington. There seemed to be evidence for several kilns, and the kiln furniture was apparent. There were surface finds in the piggery. The kiln area was mole drained in May 1977, and unfired clay and tile was noted on the surface in an area c.10m by 4m. Obstructions were struck at regular intervals for an area of c.100m, but no stone was brought to the surface. {1}{2}
