Full Description
A bloomery site which is possibly of medieval date has been located by Jane Cowgill. Slag has been found in mole hills. A site in the area is recorded as 'fabricas ferri' in Domesday, but the site may be smelting or smithing. No slag was exposed during the site visit, nor were any earthworks visible. {1}
