Full Description

PRN 13542 During a walkover survey carried out as part of an archaeological assessment, well-preserved earthworks of dylings survive in the parkland in the north-east of the field. To the south-west indistinct earthworks of uncertain origin still survive, and maybe the badly disturbed remains of dylings. {1} An earthwork survey recorded several features. An undated linear bank about 3m wide was aligned north-west/south-east, and may represent upcast from the construction of the roadside ditch, or be a plough headland related to the dylings. A shallow undated linear hollow about 2m long was oriented at 45 degrees to this bank, and may represent the remnants of an access route or hollow way. {2}
