Full Description

Two Lower Palaeolithic axe-thinning flakes (one definite, one probable) were identified from within late Bronze Age assemblages from two adjacent pit features (51 and 58). These probably came from the surrounding 'natural' gravels exposed by the later features. Both pieces are heavily patinated and display a staining which is not found amongst the other pieces of the assemblage. {1}
