Full Description

During work to replace a retaining wall on the terrace to the rear of properties on Ventnor Terrace the existing retaining wall was recorded. It was not possible to date the stonework as the style of the construction and the materials used were generally nondescript. It consisted of several rudimentary courses of roughly worked limestone blocks with patchy lime mortar bonding. It probably dated from the eighteenth or nineteenth centuries. {1}{2}
