Full Description
Numerous finds from fields adjacent to the old course of the Witham, including Roman (61170) and medieval pottery (61171), medieval net sinkers (this record), prehistoric flints (61172) and Neolithic axe (61188). There were 298 medieval net sinkers with about six of much larger size (10 inches to 12 inches by 6 inches to 8 inches), the purpose of which might be slightly different. {1}
