Full Description

A single sherd of pottery was recovered from the topsoil during a watching brief at Plot 1, Main Road, Maltby le Marsh. It is probably a Lincoln ware sherd of the thirteenth-fourteenth century, although it may be an overfired Toynton All Saints type, which would date to the fourteenth-fifteenth century. It is unabraded which suggests that it is not part of a manuring scatter. This lack of finds also suggests that this area was not occupied during the medieval period. {1}{2}
