Full Description
A Roman copper-alloy bell was reported to staff at Lincoln Museum in 1983. The bell is thought to have been recovered after metal detecting of material dredged from a main drain at Skellingthorpe. It is square-mounted with protruding corner pieces and a loop on top to facilitate attachment, though is missing the clapper. The bell was donated to Lincoln Museum, and is similar in design though slightly larger to another example they hold (from Water Tower, Lincoln 1918). {1}
