Full Description
A large number of fragments from florid cruciform brooches and square-headed brooches have been made by metal detectorists in this area. The finds would indicate this is the site of an Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery. Since the site has been ploughed since medieval times and the finds recovered were only fragmentary, this would suggest that the site is badly plough-damaged. No human remains are reported but the brooch fragments are not burned, suggesting an inhumation rather than cremation cemetery. {1}{2}
