Full Description
A 7th century Anglo-Saxon shield boss was found in the River Witham in 1787-8, at some point between the parishes of Bardney and Kirkstead. The exact findspot is unknown. The boss is of the 'sugar-loaf' type, and is held by Lincoln Museum. {1}{2}{3}
