Full Description

PRN 70114 During a watching brief at 37 Bailgate, Lincoln, stone foundations were found beneath the north wall of the outbuildings of the property which may be the remnant of an older, possibly medieval, land boundary. A similar east to west limestone wall forms the south boundary wall of the garden. It is possible that these walls were built from reused stone from a medieval building. The decoration on a fragment of limestone may be a floriate cross such as those found on thirteenth century monumental or grave slabs. {1}{2}
