PRN 70105 During work to remove a retaining wall in the grounds of Westgate School, the remains of a wall of roughly hewn limestone blocks was recorded which was bonded by a friable yellow green clay. This wall ran north to south and cut into the Roman rampart deposits. It is probably of post medieval date and is shown on c. 18th and 19th century maps and illustrations of the area. {1}
