Full Description
PRN 60832
There is evidence to suggest that there is another manor house in this area, from which Manor Farm gets its name. The farmer has reported stone in the field when ploughing and building stone can be seen on the surface of his field. The 1641 Brownlow map of Scot Willoughby shows most of the east side of Dembleby within the manorial holding of Willoughby which makes a good case for there being another manor on the west side of Dembleby. The Lincolnshire Record Society volume speaks of a large house (one of two) in the village in a field south of the old church being knocked down c.1800. {1}
Earthworks have been seen in this area but they are thought to represent medieval settlement (see PRN 65038) and no mention of a manor is made. {2}{3}
