ONE SHERD OF ROMAN COLOUR-COATED WARE (PROBABLY NENE VALLEY WARE) WAS RECOVERED FROM AN ACCESS PIT DURING A WATCHING BRIEF ON A WATER MAINS REPLACEMENT. IT IS VERY ABRADED AND IS PROBABLY RESIDUAL, BUT DOES INDICATE POSSIBLE ROMAN ACTIVITY IN THE AREA. {1}{2}
