Full Description
Archaeological recording was conducted in January 1998, prior to the removal of a section of hedgerow on land adjacent to Standacre Farm, Bassingham. The hedgerow sits upon a field boundary that is known to pre-date the Parliamentary Enclosure of this area, being depicted on a map of the parish that dates to 1654. The boundary is comprised of a slight bank with a deep ditch to its northern side. It is possible that the field boundary has medieval origins. {1}
