60746 SQUARE BASE OF 2 STEPS. SQUARE SOCKET STONE. SQUARE SHAFT STOP CHAMFERED. STAFF SURVIVES TO FULL HEIGHT WITH CAPITAL. STANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CROSS ROAD. {1} BASE OF 2 STONE STEPS WITH SQUARE SOCKET STONE FROM WHICH RISES A SHAFT 2M HIGH. SHAFT IS IN TWO PORTIONS AND IS PLAIN WITH CHAMFERED EDGES. THE CAPITAL IS FAIRLY PLAIN AND POINTED BUT END IS SOMEWHAT DAMAGED. THERE IS SOME WEAR ON THE STEPS AND THE SHAFT IS PITTED IN PARTS AND RATHER WEATHERED. A LITTLE LICHEN. STONEWORK IS GENERALLY CLEAN WITH A FEW INSCRIBED MARKS.{2} THE STAFF AND BASE ARE OF LINCOLNSHIRE LIMESTONE. {3} FOR DETAILED DESCRIPTION SEE REVISED SCHEDULING DOCUMENTS 22632. {6}, HEIGHT 3M, HTM 4M It was restored in 1826. {7}
