Full Description

PRN 60647 During excavation in advance of a housing development the foundations of a post medieval stone building were identified. This building was most likely used for the drying of agricultural produce. The north-west corner is rounded suggesting that the area was restricted for vehicular traffic. In addition three ditches and a rubbish pit containing sixteenth and seventeenth century pottery were uncovered and a single Nuremberg jetton was found. Pits containing a horse burial and a calf burial were also encountered along with part of a metalled trackway running north-south. {1}{2}
