Full Description
Former water tower at Evedon, built by Sleaford Rural District Council in 1915. It was constructed of brick, corbelled out at the top to carry the water tank. {1}
The tower became redundant in the 1960s and was converted into a private house in 1989, losing its tank in the process. {2}{3}{4}
A photograph showing the tower in 1982, before its conversion to residential use, is held by the Linconshire Archives. {5}
A stone plaque located inside the tower states that it was built by J.T. Barnes, to the designs of engineer W.B. Marsden. The bricks used in its construction are stamped 'Lincoln Brick Company W', with the W indicating they were produced at the company's Waddington brick works. {6}
